SCARY

In the latest video of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, she is directly quoted as saying, "We have to pass this bill so we can see what's in it."

This woman scares the Hell out of me. Either she is such a moron that she strives to pass bills she does not understand (buys a pig in a poke), or she is so deviously Marxist that she thinks WE are such morons that we will never catch on.

I am already on record as calling Pelosi a pathetic and pathological liar (which is proved out in her own statements), and now I am going on record as stating she is not well-anchored in sanity.

Ms Pelosi - if you do not know what is in the bill, DON'T PASS IT!

Census Nonsense

First, I have a tidbit of info for you: the Obama administration has recently completed a GPS database of every address, every "front door" in America. QUESTION: Why do you suppose they would want or need that information? Think about it.

Today I received my "Official Census" form. On it, I answered ONLY the first question, sealed it in the return envelope along with a letter.

First, the reason I answer only the one question: it is the only census question the United States Constitution empowers the government to ask. And I am strongly opposed to any government collecting other personal and private information on its citizens - that is how Hitler tracked down the Jews in 1938. No government can be trusted with such information, partly because every government is corrupt to some degree, and partly because governments come and go - no government has ever lasted forever. So, where does all that info end up if America should one day fall?

Included with the census was my letter, as follows:

"According to Section 2 of the Constitution of the United States, "The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct." That is the ONLY power given the government concerning a census.

"It is clear that the census is for purposes of enumeration only, as it expessly states as much. Congress may change the MANNER (definition, "how something is done or how it happens; method") in which the census is conducted, but has no authority to change the census, itself, or require additional information from private citizens for which the Constitution has not given the federal government the authority to collect. In fact, the Constitution further states that any rights not explicitly granted in the Constitution to the government is reserved for the states and the people respectvely. Nowhere in the Constitution is the government granted any right to collect any information other than mere enumeration.

"Any 'law' passed that is contrary to the Constitution is not enforceable.

"For purposes of adequate enumeration, we have provide the number of residents at this address 'for purposes of enumeration', in the 'manner as the law shall direct' (via the US Mail).
"Please do NOT attempt to solicit more information about the residents at this address, as such information will not be provided. In the event you choose to pursue this, or in any manner attempt to invade our privacy, please be advised that if harrassed, I will not hesitate to bring legal action for violation of our Constitutional rights."

This brings us to the latest attempt at categorizing people and following their every move. Senators Schumer and Graham are petitioning the White House to initiate a "national I.D. card" that every resident would be required to carry. You would not be able to work without it. You would not be able to bank without it. You may not even be able to shop without it. The problem lies in the fact that these cards will include a microchip that has all your identifying information, including your DNA. Even without recalling Revelations about not being able to conduct business without "the mark of the Beast", imagine (if you can) how devastating it could be for that information to ever fall into the wrong hands. With everyone's DNA, how simple it would be to perpetrate ethnic cleansing. If Hitler had had access to such info, anyone who was not true Aryan would have joined the Jews in Auschwitz within the first 30 days of his reign.

Our government promises confidentiality (although census data is made public in 72 years). When the German government collected personal information on its citizens in the early '30's and promised it would be kept confidential, they never imagined that one day a man named Hitler would take power, gain access to that info, and use it to identify and murder millions of innocent people.

Someday, our government will fall. Every government does, eventually. When it does, any tyrant will be able to use that info to purge entire families, or even races from the face of the Earth. If your family history shows a "bad or undesireable gene", he could wipe out your entire family. If they have your DNA, it will be used to betray all future generations of your family, even a thousand years from now.

Can anyone say "Big Brother"? If you have never read "1984", you owe it to yourself and your family to do so.

Or, you could simply read Revelations...

If you really want to be "counted", stand up and be counted - fight back against government intrusion that violates our rights and freedoms as a free people. If you let the government threaten and bully you on the census, what else will you allow them to do to you? Or have you forgotten, the government is supposed to serve us, not vice versa.

Any people who fear their government are a people who live under tyranny. We fear the IRS. We fear the power that our government has stolen from us. We live in tryanny and do not even know it, because the government lets us THINK we are in charge. But are we? 72% of the people oppose the current health care bill, OR want to start over. Yet, Congress insists on pushing it through. So how can any sane and reasonable person make the argument that "We, the People" are in charge anymore?

Insurance Hype

On the front page of today's Maine Sunday Telegram is an article bemoaning the 6th double-digit rate hike for Anthem subscribers in six years. That part is true. The article then goes on to blame everything except the real culprit.

The reason insurance premiums jump so high each year is not because of the cost of drugs, medical procedures or even corporate greed. It is much simpler than that.

Currently, as much as 40% or more of ALL medical care is for those on Medicare or Medicaid. And those "government run" options only pay doctors and hospitals about 60% or less of the going rate for medical costs. The problem lies in the simple fact that what Medicare and Medicaid pays is not enough to cover costs and still make a living, so doctors and hospitals are forced to raise the costs of drugs, procedures and rooms charged to any other insurance companies. This in turn results in the need for insurance companies to jack up their rates for premiums.

In simplest terms, let's assume you own a business that makes widgets. It costs you $5.00 to make a widget. Let's further assume that 40% of all widgets are purchased by the government, but they will only pay you $3 each. To stay in business, you now must add $2.00 to your cost basis for everyone else who buys a widget. So your non-government customers get hit with a huge price increase.

And that is what is happening with insurance premiums.

And that is why I firmly believe that the Health Care bills currently in Congress will increase premiums a whole lot more, because government funded health care is an extension of Medicare. To keep the government's costs down, they will not pay doctors and hospitals a fair rate, which forces them to charge insurance companies even higher prices, resulting in skyrocketing premiums.

And that is exactly what the liberals want. They want socialized medicine. Their desire is to have everyone on the government plan. And the current health care bill would eventually force every American into the government plan by forcing insurance premiums through the roof.

And when that happens, America will have the worst health care in the world instead of the best. Since the government would then be underpaying on 100% of all medical care instead of just 40%, doctors and hospitals will be forced to cut back.

Yes, we need to come up with health care reform, but only insofar as the cost. If we can bring COSTS down, we can fix what is wrong with health care. But you cannot do that by simply underpaying doctors and hospitals, because they will only have to pass those losses onto the consumers. Instead, we must deal with the reasons that costs are so high - medical malpractice insurance costs, frivolous lawsuits, state monopolies on health care which limit our choices and subsidizing the research & development for new drugs, so drug companies do not have to charge a fortune for drugs.

What we do NOT need is to tear down the entire system and start from scratch, building a "socialized" health system. Our health care is the best in the world. All we need to do is bring costs down.

Computer Modeling

LONDON (March 5) -- Climate scientists have hit back at skeptics with the publication of a new paper that says the case for man-made global warming is now "stronger than ever." The team put together the new set of evidence by comparing computer models of possible causes of climate change."

For those of you who may have missed it, the "evidence" is based on "computer models."

In doing further research, I have looked into the accuracy of "computer models" over a broad spectrum - models used in predicting hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanic activity etc. According to the facts, "compter models" have been reasonably accurate only 6% of the time.

In other words, using computer models to provide supporting evidence of anything at all is as scientific as basing future predictions on astrolgy.

Ooops! Research indicates that astrolgy is accurate about 11% of the time. In other words, about twice as accurate as computer modeling.

Still, the "climate experts" still insist on basing their predictions on something only half as accurate as star-gazing.

That is not science. It is hocus-pocus.

Now that "Climate scientists have hit back at skeptics with the publication of a new paper ", I guess all I have to do is "publish a new paper" that says they are full of crapola, and that would be sufficient proof that they are full of it.

Sorry, GW hoaxsters, I'm afraid it will take a wee bit more than "publishing a new paper" and using computer models to convince intelligent people. But keep trying - you may actually come up with something that makes sense.

Pre-Existing Conditions

Almost all politicians on both sides want to put an end to insurance companies denying coverage due to pre-existing conditions. And while that may seem altruistic, perhaps someone should look below the surface.

Let's say a person is diagnosed with cancer. He is not yet insured. Assuming insurers are no longer allowed to deny coverage, they would then be forced to insure this person. If the normal premium is $1000 per month, then the insurer is forced to receive $1000 per month and shell out $50,000 per month in medical costs. That is a loss of $49,000 per month - for just ONE person.

Since insurers will go bankrupt unless they recoup losses, guess what happens next? That's right - everyone else's premiums will go up - a lot - to cover those losses.

When the liberals try to tell us they can pass this health care bill and it would SAVE us money and NOT raise premiums, they are living in La-La Land, a place Nancy Pelosi is very familiar with.

And while we are on the subject of La-La Land, anyone who thinks we can add 30 million people into the waiting rooms, without also adding tens of thousands of doctors, nurses and other staff, plus more facilities to perform their tasks (hospitals & clinics), and yet will still claim the quality of our health care will not suffer - well, La-La Land has a place for you, too. If you add 20% more patients without adding 20% more facilities, equipment and staff, the "quality of care" will no longer exist in America.

Yes, we need to make health care more affordable. But what we do NOT need is this travesty of socialism disguised as a health care bill.

Frying Toyota

Over the years there have been over 8 million vehicles recalled. Today it was announced that GM is recalling 1.3 million. Yet, to date, the only auto maker to be fried by Congress is Toyota. Why is that?

The reason for the discrimination against Toyota is POLITICS and POWER. Of all the automakers with factories in the U.S., Toyota is the one that does not cow-tow to the United Auto Workers Union. Because there is no UAW at Toyota, they are hated by the Union. They can also undersell other automakers because the costs that unions add to manufacturing is not present at Toyota.

Meanwhile, our Congress is mostly Democrat, and most Democrats receive a LOT of union money for their re-election campaigns. And it is the Democrat Congress that decided to take over GM, one of Toyota's biggest competitors.

And that is precisely why Toyota is under fire in Congress - Congress is CORRUPT. Congress is bought and paid for with union money. And Congress has a vested interest in the success of GM.

Toyota will be villified in the liberal press and in Congress until it is forced to either bring in the union, or face billion dollar losses from lawsuits that will increase Toyota's costs, and thereby force them to increase prices so GM will appear more competitive.

It's a stacked deck - liberals will not play without one.

A-Spinning We Will Go...

Today's headline: "Republican Jim Bunning of Kentucky stalls unemployment benefits for more than a million people."

Of course, that is not even close to the actual truth, but then, liberals don't have much use for the truth. Here is the real story...

Congress passed "Pay Go", requiring that they find ways to PAY for any expenditures they authorize. In the case of extended unemployment benefits, the Democrats want to extend payments (up to $10 billion) without having any way to pay for it.

Jim Bunning is all for the extension, but is only insisting that they fund it, and will block enactment until Congress actually decides to do their job.

But even then, no one on unemployment will see any interruption in benefits - there is already a temporary extension in place.

If more of our Congressional leaders would hold their own feet to the fire and arrange to actually come up with the money they spend, America would be better off. I say, "Kudos" to Congressman Bunning for standing up for an important principle - fiscal responsibility.

For the last two years everyone in America has been screaming bloody murder because Congress is not fiscally responsible. And now when a Congressman actually tries to be so, the Democrats try to turn him into some sort or pariah, or ogre. He is neither.

He is a hero. And those who try to paint him as anything less are nothing short of partisan hacks who hold their own interests to be more important than the interests of the American people.
